30 in 30 Memory Works Card Challenge: Day 15

Welcome to day 15 of the Memory Works card challenge. Yep, we’re half way there! (Anyone else singing Bon Jovi right now? I resisted the urge to link to a video. Oh the 80s…how glad I am they are over!)

Today’s sketch from Retro Sketches is brought to us by the incredibly talented designer Jade Wilson. Hop over to the Memory Works blog to see the sketch and Jade’s lovely card. (Be sure to visit Jade at The Scrap Yard Rose for more inspiration.)

Here is my take on the sketch:

For this sketch, I once again turned to Lily Bee DesignsChristmas Cheer. The long banner is cut at 2 x 5 1/4 inches and notched at one end. I cut the green polka dot paper to 3 x 4 inches and layered it atop the banner. The blue and red piece is cut at 2 5/8 x 4 inches and then edged with the Loop punch by Martha Stewart. I added Cranberry gros grain ribbon accented with Honeydew twine from The Twinery at the bottom. The whole piece is popped up with dimensional adhesive. I then cut a piece of Colonial White cardstock to 2 3/8 x 3 inches and used the Close To My Heart November Stamp Of The Month set to create the sentiment. I used the third generation stamping technique (stamping the ink off twice before stamping onto the cardstock) for the “December” stamp in Cranberry Exclusive ink. The “25” is from the same stamp set and is also in Cranberry ink. The little accent piece was created using the deco scallop edger punch by ek success with a little added bling for fun.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I hope you’re enjoying the 30 in 30 challenge, and that you’re inspired to go out and create something beautiful today!

Cheers!

Wow, you are rockin’ the Lily Bee. Love your mixing of patterns and colors with this line. Great way to use that stamp set!
