You’re A Star!

Hi All! Welcome to another Stuck On U Sketches die cut challenge! This challenge is all about stars.

Let’s take a look:

SOUS092013a

The card base for is a standard A2 using Colonial White cardstock. I layered the base with Hollyhock and Outdoor Denim cardstocks, and then added pattern papers from Close To My Heart’s Claire paper pack (which has sadly been retired). The stars are cut at 3 1/2 inches from Outdoor Denim cardstock using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I added silver Stickles to the stars for extra bling (really, whoever heard of a dull star?). The sentiment is from the Artbooking collection and is stamped in Outdoor Denim Exclusive ink on a fun cork shape from my stash. I added a little Color Ready Seam Binding to the card and the cork for extra flair, and then popped up the sentiment using dimensional adhesive.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I added some stars from the die cut to the inside of the card for a little extra interest. (And why wast these perfectly beautiful cuts?) 🙂

Here is the outside of the card, once again:

Hope you enjoyed my little starry card. For more starstruck inspiration, don’t forget to hop on over to Stuck On U Sketches.

A little Mojo

zMojo306Sketch

Hi All! It’s been ages since I played along with Mojo Monday so I thought I’d rectify the situation. Here’s my take on this week’s sketch:

mojo306a

The card base is a standard A2 in Colonial White cardstock. The patterned paper is all from Maggie Holmes’ Signature line by Crate Paper. The sentiment is from the new Close To My Heart Hostess Reward stamp set called “You Only Live Once,” and is stamped in Slate ink. I added a white doily and a strip of Hollyhock cardstock behind the sentiment for a little pop. Some buttons and twine from my stash finish it off nicely. Here are a couple of close-ups:

Hope you enjoyed my little mojo. Don’t forget to create something beautiful today, even if it’s just a memory!

A Little Help From My (Furry) Friends

Hey All! Welcome to another die cut challenge from the Stuck On U Sketches team.

Some friends of mine just had a little baby girl last month. I’m a little late with the card and gift, but that just keeps the celebration going, right? Anyway, I decided to use the help of a few furry friends to welcome little Abigail into this fantastic, wild world. Let’s take a look:

SOUS080913a

For this A2 (5 1/2 x 4 1/4-inch) card, I used a White Daisy card base and added patterned paper and embossed resist cardstock from the retired Dream Pop collection by Close To My Heart. The heart photo frame that is holding the sentiment, along with the giraffe and the lion are cut using  CTMH’s new Artbooking Cricut cartridge. (All three were also cut from  Dream Pop paper.) The sentiment and animals are from the CTMH Wild Wonders stamp set, and the hearts are from the retired Whooo’s Your Valentine? stamp set. I stamped the monkey in Lagoon  and the hippo in Hollyhock Exclusive inks, and then fussy cut them and adhered them to the card. I stamped the bird twice, once in Gypsy and once in Honey Exclusive inks. I fussy cut the body of the Gypsy bird and layered it on the Honey bird. I then fussy cut the whole thing and adhered it to the card. The giraffe and lion are popped up with dimensional adhesive.

A Sweet Little Challenge

Hi folks! Thought I’d play along with the Sweet Stop Challenge today. Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my take on it:

I used Kraft Cardstock as my base, and stamped it with White Daisy Exclusive Ink using Close To My Heart‘s Pirouette stamp. The patterned paper is from the Chantilly collection. The fun little frame is stamped on White Daisy Cardstock in Hollyhock Exclusive Ink using the Perfect Fit Frames stamp set. I fussy cut the frame, but I could have used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, which coordinates with this stamp set. Very cool! The inner circle is from the Chantilly Workshop On The Go stamp set and is stamped in Twilight Exclusive Ink. I added a little yellow flower from the Just Blooms Paradise collection and spiced it up with a little green bling. The bow was tied with Color-Ready Seam Binding. The sentiment is from the “A Garden” stamp set and is stamped in White Daisy Exclusive Ink on Hollyhock Cardstock. I added some bitty green bling for fun!

For this easel card, I used Sunset Cardstock for the base and Hollyhock Cardstock for the top layer. The chevron and polka dots/denim papers are from Close To My Heart‘s new Clair collection. The Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon is also new and by Close To My Heart. For the top pink layer, I used the new CTMH March Stamp Of The MonthFloral Happiness–to stamp tone-on-tone using Blush Cardstock and Blush Exclusive Ink. The sentiment is from the “A Friend Like You” stamp set and is stamped in Outdoor Denim Exclusive Ink. I stamped the rose in Blush and Sunset Exclusive Inks. The leaves are stamped in Sweet Leaf Exclusive Ink. Both images are from Floral Happiness.

Here is the card opened:

A Little Extra Mojo

We interrupt our regularly scheduled broadcast… (Okay, I know. I don’t regularly schedule anything. But work with me on this….) 🙂

zMojo275Sketch

So I woke up this morning with an in-box full of congratulations. (Some of you are clearly well acquainted with those O-Dark Thirty hours I try to avoid!) I was one of the winners of the Mojo Monday 275 Challenge. How cool is that! To see my entry, just scroll on down (or click here).

Thanks again for all the congrats messages! And thanks you the Mojo Monday gang. I’m honored!

We now return you to your day… Don’t forget to create something beautiful with it!

A Little End o’ the Week Mojo

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry for the near-month-long break. I hope your 2013 has started out well.

As I was cleaning out my craft room (2nd only to bathrooms on my “rather do anything but…” list), I decided that I would dig deep into my stash and use it up this year. To that end, and to get back in the creative swing of things, I decided to play along with the Mojo Monday challenge this week.

Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my take on the sketch:

The cardstock is Gray Flannel [retired] and Whisper by Close To My Heart. The pattern papers are from the Yours Truly collection by Echo Park. (I picked it up for Valentine’s Day last year. Love it! There are several papers in the collection that are pretty universal.) The heart stickers are from the same collection. I used CTMH Color-Ready Seam Binding for the ribbon. (Tying bows with this stuff is so easy!) The bling is from my stash. (I have an unusually large stash of bling, I’ve found….) The sentiment is from the Jardin stamp set by Close To My Heart, and is stamped in Black Exclusive Ink.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Hope you enjoyed a little end o’ the week Mojo. It’s good to be back!

Have a fantastically creative day!
